My name is Maggie.

I’m a soil scientist and avid gardener, and I love sharing my knowledge with you.

I’ve got a lot of different experiences under my belt. I grew up in Ohio and went to Ohio State for my undergrad. After my junior year, I took a gap year and lived in Germany. I returned to Ohio to finish my time at OSU, and graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science (soil science specialization) and a B.A. in German Language and Literature. I’ve worked as an administrative assistant for a sustainability initiative, as an intern for a German life-cycle assessment company, a lab technician, an intern for university extension services, a university instructor, and as a manager of research and development at a potting soil company.

I find most soil science resources are difficult to navigate or understand, or they’re geared towards farmers or other agricultural providers. I wanted to create something that was for everyone else–people who may have no practical knowledge of farming or soil to start, much like I used to.
